All consultants, including but not limited to architects, designers, engineers, and other advisers, must preference solutions that maximise the use of local materials, finishes, products, goods, and services in construction, including fittings, fixtures, and equipment, and modern methods of construction (such as prefabricated, modular and/or offsite manufactured components) wherever possible.
All bidders, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants and/or subconsultants, including but not limited to project managers, architects, designers, engineers, and other advisers:
- must preference solutions that maximise the use of local materials, finishes, products, goods, and services in construction, including fittings, fixtures, and equipment wherever possible. This includes giving priority to materials and products that contain recycled content and demonstrate reduced embodied carbon and improve resource efficiency, minimise waste, and enhance overall sustainability outcomes.
- are encouraged to use solutions that maximise the use of modern methods of construction such as prefabricated, and/or offsite manufactured components wherever possible, particularly when it offers the opportunity for improved efficiency, reduced waste or savings to the State.
