The ICN supports the implementation of Local Jobs First. Its primary aim is to maximise opportunities for Victorian industry.
ICN plays a key role in liaising with government agencies and bidders in Local Jobs First applicable projects and procurements, and in ensuring that local suppliers have an opportunity to register interest in upcoming government projects.
Bidders to Victorian Government projects and local suppliers can use the ICN Victoria website to:
- Connect with ICN services
- Connect with government projects
- Find out about ICN events
- Use a variety of other services, such as supply chain mapping and support to report on Local Jobs First, including VIPP and Major Projects Skills Guarantee.
Victorian Local Jobs First Management Centre (VMC)
The VMC is where agencies register Local Jobs First projects and where bidders submit their LIDPs to the ICN for review.
Local businesses, including principal contractors and local suppliers of goods and services can use the ICN gateway to:
- register your business capability
- access project opportunities
- search for suppliers.
ICN Analytics is a secure online platform that provides for the collection and analysis of local content and jobs data over the life of a project. The service is funded by DJPR at no cost to industry or agencies.
From 1 May 2018, ICN Analytics is required to be used on all government projects worth $20 million or more, including all projects deemed Strategic Projects. Projects started earlier or that have a lower value can opt in to use the system at no additional cost.
Departments, principal contractors and local suppliers can use ICN Analytics to enter data on local content, employment numbers and hours, and to track performance against commitments made under Local Jobs First.
A new monitoring and reporting system for suppliers to report against their LIDP commitments is currently under development between the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions and the ICN. More advice will be provided on this process when available.
