The Victorian Government’s Local Jobs First Policy, Agency Guidelines and Supplier Guidelines have been updated and refreshed to strengthen policy outcomes and simplify application for agencies and industry.
The updated documents are available on the Local Jobs First website, together with a summary of the key changes. Changes include policy updates to the Major Projects Skills Guarantee (MPSG) including updated definitions of apprentices, trainees and cadets and a simplified approach to estimating labour hours.
Procuring agencies and contractors should use the updated policy and guidelines (October 2022) for all new projects, noting that monitoring and reporting guidance should be used for all new and existing projects. Transitional arrangements are in place for changes to estimating labour hours under the MPSG until 31 January 2023.
The refresh of the Agency Guidelines and Supplier Guidelines also includes a range of updates which respond to frequently asked questions and streamlined information which will make application easier and help agencies and suppliers better understand policy requirements.
