Building Better Primary Schools, Faster

The Victorian Government is using modular construction technology to provide new, asbestos-free classrooms for Victorian schools, much faster than traditional construction methods.

The Asbestos Removal Program is a Local Jobs First Strategic Project, mandating 90 per cent local content requirement for the permanent modular school building program and 95 per cent local content for the asbestos removal and reinstatement program.

Local companies, like Sensum and Brand Architects, have contributed to the project, as well as ten apprentices in trades such as electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
