Today, the Minister for Jobs, Innovation and Trade tabled the Local Jobs First Annual Report 2018-19 in Parliament.

The annual report details Local Jobs First policy implementation activities for 2018-19.

Key achievements highlighted in this year’s annual report include:

  • local content requirements being set for 33 Strategic Projects valued at over
$8.1 billion, with a requirement to deliver an average of 92 per cent local content
  • 220 Standard Projects being completed worth a total value of $1.8 billion. These completed Standard Projects supported more than 8,000 jobs, including over 1,500 apprenticeships, traineeships and cadetships
  • the MPSG being applied to 116 projects, since its introduction in 2016, which have committed to more than four million contracted hours for 3,700 apprentices, trainees and cadets.

We would like to recognise the enormous amount of work that departments and agencies have contributed the implementation and application of Local Jobs First in 2018-19.
