Since his appointment, the Local Jobs First Commissioner has engaged with many SMEs and key stakeholders to assist them in understanding the opportunities available in government procurement. In addition to face to face meetings and webinars, the Commissioner has visited many businesses to view firsthand the expertise and commitment to providing quality goods and services, as well as the innovation possessed by many Victorian businesses,
As Vinyl flooring is an important fixture in many Victorian Government-funded projects, the Local Jobs First Commissioner has established a good working relationship with Victorian-based manufacturer of vinyl sheet flooring - Armstrong flooring
In addition to having visited Armstrong’s Braeside manufacturing plant, the Local Jobs First Commissioner has advocated on behalf of Armstrong Flooring with Government Departments and agencies.
Local Jobs First Commissioner, Don Matthews said: “It is great to see the amazing capabilities of Victoria’s local industry. Victoria has an array of goods and services available and the more we see them being used across the state, the better. I am committed and will continue to advocate for local industry across Victoria.”
